Any opinions on tyres for a dmax? Mainly road use but also used to go into fields abit to look the beast. Preferably not over expensive aswell!!

I used to run Toyo open country at3, as good as BF off road, but far better on it.

Currently on Vredestain Wintrac Extreme as i dont venture into challenging off road conditions now, and been very pleased. Reason for the winter tyres was that i often travel high routes early in the mornings. Wearing reasonably well, ok off road, but they excellent on it!!

Michelin Latitude Cross, don't look that aggressive but go well off road and virtually like a road tyre on road. Wear well too.
Agree with this , put them on our Ranger and have been very impressed. like A different truck to drive on the road compared with the BFG all terrains that came off.
Was in a wet field this week and thought I was in trouble but got out

Just be aware that the BFG's as they wear are bloody hideous on the road in the wet. They weren't that special when they were low on wear either but once they are worn holy heck they can get interesting if you aren't careful.

General grabbers felt a bit more planted but they were noisier on the road. I think the Michelin etc would be worth investigating.

Bf Goodrich every time, good in the field, and you get more road miles out of them
than anything I have ever seen

Totally agree. Been using them for ages... 20yrs+ I reckon.

Bit horrid on the road initially, but after 500 miles, a really nice ride and last for ever... Just replaced 2 rears on my Ranger at 62K with plenty of road life left, but not up to field work now...

Funnily, I have always been impresssed with the BFG's in the wet... Granted, worn rubber is not pleasant, but as a motorcyclist, I consider good rubber a vital part of driving....

Insa turbo specials :ROFLMAO:

Insa Turbos are remoulds with the same tread patterns as BFG All Terrain or Mud Terrain, but are half the price. I’ve run several sets of their BFG ‘MT’ copies and been more than happy, although noisy on the road as all ‘mud’ tyres will be. New truck has BFG All Terrrains on and it’s shocking off road by comparison.
