Have used dectomax at around 3ml per ewe, is this enough? got mixed results, some still rubbing, is there any other product out there i have not heard of and should know about. Maybe sheep dipping is the only answer, I only have a small flock, how are the large sheep farmers coping with this problem.
I have not bought any replacements or store lambs because of this on going problem.

Recent confirmed cases of scab resistance to ivermectins mean it's advisable to get a blood test done pre and after treatment to confirm effectivness of treatment---dipping maybe the way forward (as long as everyone else nearby does the same?)
I also would recommend using a clean grazing plan to help eradicate scab

Was it diagnosed? A lot of scab is misdiagnosed and is in fact lice.

We stopped dipping for a year or two, and soon realised we were both injecting an ivermectin for scab, and using a pour on for biting lice which Ivermectins don't touch.
Coupled to the huge chance of resistance to an injection (using a continuous feed gun, there's every chance you'll only know the seals aren't working when you get to the end of the group/bottle), and shorter covered time, it's a no brainer for me.
We went back to dipping, and dread the day when we can't.

In your case. it's presumably either biting lice - 'spot on'?- or resistant scab mites.

The scab mites urine iritates the skin so some animal will still run for a few weeks. A strict clean field policy (20 days minimum) and 1ml/20 kg LW with dectomax meant we cleared it. A lot of work, costing us in excess of £5k without counting meat withdrawals, stress of gathering and having to put ewes into fields at 30/acre for 3 weeks and feed them silage to keep Other land clean.

We almost bought a lot of store lambs this year but ended up not doing it mainly because of the risk of scab, next year they won’t have to come within a mile of the ewe flock so I can risk it.

In terms of product, OP dip will cover everything. Hopefully compulsory dipping will come back soon and we can get rid of it for good!
A friend bought some ewes from a mart a few weeks ago and a bottle of Ivermectin 2% came with the ewes :0

dip them or dip them, blood tests needed for accurate diagnosis whether it's lice or scab but dipping will cure everything,to many people randomly jabbing is causing wormer and scab mite resistance,in my humble opinion

I hope dipping becomes compulsory again it would help get on top of this problem, when you see even the auctioneers putting in there catalogue now how bad scan is it's worrying!! Especially when you want store lambs but can't really buy with confidence!! But the only problem I see with dipping is a lot of boys anyone running under a 100 ewes there going to struggle to get a contractor in for dipping!! So they just take the easy option of jabbing

Which could also get rid of another problem (y)
The police used to go to farms to make sure they dipped properly last time dipping was compulsory, I can’t see that happening :(

Defra are quick enough to send vets to test for tb, why not train certain amount of feild officers so to speak, bet they could get 10 for the price of one vet haha but then send them out to watch people dipping

Our vet says there is widespread resistance to injection for scab now and the only way to break the cycle is to dip. One problem is the cost of dipping licence and difficulty ( and cost )getting disposal. Nfu , farm assured and the vets should get together and push authority to make it easier for everyone to get back dipping ASAP

Get a contractor in.

Got a perfect setup now. Did anyone ever even see itchy sheep before all the licencing came in? And don't tell me it's saved the environment at all, we have two miles of fishing here and there is probably 10% if the fish than there was when the old tubs were emptied straight down the river. It's a welfare thing that's getting out of control now

Have abit of older lambs loosing some wool here this year. Run a closed flock and never had an issue with scab before. Don’t think it’s scab/ lice or anything, just another side effect of the drought and associated huge worm burdens and clostridial ailments the sheep have had this autumn. Have noticed a correlation in loss of wool and lambs that were previously sick.
