So what price are people paying for good quality grease?
And what do you recommend for pin & bush these colours do have me a little confused I have used blue & red but currently using lithium complex dark brown colour and I feel it may not be good enough
Thanks

I use Lithium Moly grease in the loaders. because I think its better than normal ep2 and yet will still mix okay, I think the ideal grease for pins and bushes is calcium based and should not be mixed with standard EP2 so as farmers generally do not use that I stick to something that can mix.

Its just a colour thing i dont think its any better than normal complex ep2
Some of the red stuff has little silver flecks in it but no idea what they are.

Thanks I'm currently using EP2 is this good enough for pins & bushes?
Yes I've noticed the those flecks I in the red stuff thought they were copper, I used it for a while I didn't think it was any better but it's hard to compare.

EP2 is better than nothing but its not the best for pins and bushes IMO Done regular its okay, I just use moly on everything now rightly or wrong I don't know but not had an issue yet.

At the end of the day any grease is better than the dairy farmers standard no grease

I'll take umbridge to that but im not defending all of us!

We'll grease what little kit we have regularly. We ran out of cartridges a month or so back and got a box last week. Got the apprentice to grease everything up and went through 3 cartridges!:eek::eek:

The best bit was he's learnt to change them himself now so I let him get on with it.

If you've not much kit and the lad has used 3 cartridges, I reckon he will have buggered several seals! You ain't supposed to use too much.

as a few have said, any grease is better than no grease i guess.
id agree with you on the ep2 not being the best for pin n bush's, imo its only on the first rung of the ladder when it comes to grease.
i use a Molybdenum DiSulfide, Li-Complex grease thats good for keeping out water, suitable for load impact and lasts longer than the cheaper brands, aka mobil xhp222.
its not much dearer than the normal grease i find, from the crowd i buy it off anyways.

good grease is cheap imo, but its also possible i wouldnt be too busy in the workshop if everyone used top notch grease so i say use away at the ep2 to anyone in my catchment area....(y)(y),

Is it possible to get grease better than EP2 in lube shuttle cartridges? Have the lube shuttle gun and get on well with it but would like some better grease for use in it.

For using normal cartridges try this grease gun it loads reasonably well without waste ....and pushes grease in quickly ...

messy bit is pulling the cartridge tab :nailbiting: specially if it breaks :yuck: why don't they put an easy 'pop off' type cap on both ends
