I'll take umbridge to that but im not defending all of us!

We'll grease what little kit we have regularly. We ran out of cartridges a month or so back and got a box last week. Got the apprentice to grease everything up and went through 3 cartridges!:eek::eek:

The best bit was he's learnt to change them himself now so I let him get on with it.

:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

I use up to 15 a week if I work 6 days. :wideyed:

For using normal cartridges try this grease gun it loads reasonably well without waste ....and pushes grease in quickly ...

messy bit is pulling the cartridge tab :nailbiting: specially if it breaks :yuck: why don't they put an easy 'pop off' type cap on both ends

I always slide a plain screwdriver, into the ruler pocket on my boilersuit when greasing up, use it to clean all the wood out from around the grease nipples and to stab the tab on the end of the cartridge, comes off no bother then ;) but still not figured out how to avoid getting flicked in the face from the wee bit of grease that seems to attack you when you pull the tab off :banghead:

Just by a Fuchs grease gun - that stops it:)

Not used a Speedy - perhaps a YouTube search may help.

With the Fuchs you just unscre the cartridge and screw another on, 10 seconds, no mess and no fuss - a pleasure to use. I used to hate and avoid greasing as I always ended up in a mess and changing conventional cartridges is an absolute shite of a job.

I've had a Fuchs for a few years and get along well with it. Also have a Milwaukee with a G on the end, so most eventualities are covered.

I'm just curious how the Fuchs compare to the Speedy, seeing as they both operate on similar principles. The advantage I can see on the Speedy the ability to use any cartridge (within reason) using their adapter.

Hi, just looked at getting one of these Fuchs grease guns, they vary a lot in price, are there 2nd's on the market, or just back to pricing and profit margins?

The Lube shuttle is also a great gun, we got ours at the local MF dealer.
They are made by Mato, like the Fuchs there is no mess involved when changing the cartridges.

If these "screw on" guns are so amazing.....why have they not caught on everywhere? Is it like trying to persuade farmers using horses that the tractor is the future?

I'm surprised that for every grease gun made, there isn't an identical version with the screw on cartridge version.

Cos farmers are usually tight gits who don't like paying the extra :)

Is it extra?
If so, why does it need to be extra?
Farmers aren't the only users of grease guns. If all other grease gun users thought they were better farmers would have to accept it.
If Fuchs gave a free grease gun with x cartridges of grease, surely they'd sell a lot more and end up with a "captive" market.

;)

Beats a gun. Never leaks. 1 pump is the same as 4 hand pump of grease. Clean. Reaches every where on a machine or implement. Just got one in for a customer who saw one on YouTube. Ordered another 3 for stock. Awesome piece of kit.
