Best rear mounted 2.4m plain disc mower?

Looking at a new rear 3 pt link mounted 2.4m disc mower, no conditioner. Limited to 2.4m for storage reasons and a few small and difficult to access patches we do.

Currently use a Kuhn PZ170 and while it makes a nice job it's too slow. Still wanting a clean cut but bigger drum mowers look heavy and couple that with the state of the roads round us it would be pretty punishing on the tractors! hence looking at going disc.

I was looking at Krones but at 2.4m you can only go for a more basic Activemow (Easycut are from 2.8m), heard a few people who've had trouble with Activemows in heavy PP? Is there anything in that? What else would people recommend?

Thanks
Dave

We have had three Vicon 2.4m disc mowers, the first second hand the other two new, they have been very good, use it on a MF4355 105hp which is a good combination, it seems to cut anything I put in front of it

Got a 9yr old Krone AM 2.40m here, shaft drive, I love it.
It looks a lot better and less bitty designed, than the basic Kuhn I also looked at.

I've recently taken a liking to Malone stuff, after seeing some at a dealership I've visited a few times this year buying other stuff. It looks very well built kit. Also seems to get good write ups on here.

I cast an eye over a 3m mounted mower conditioner the other day while I was there. Not that I'm looking at the moment though, still love the old JD1365.

The dealer I've been too even has a mower of your spec in stock by the looks of it.

I've a 9' Malone and happy with if for the small acreage I cut.
It's got a well built headstock, a Comer bed and was very reasonably priced.
Belt drive might not suit heavy users, but they do a shaft drive one too iirc, just a bit dearer.

I believe the smaller, non conditioner mowers are all belt. I think when you get over 2.8 or add a conditioner they are shaft.

I've got a claas 2.4mtr plain disc for haymaking on some of which is rougher ground.
Bumbles along quite nicely, belt driven. I don't try to win any races with it.
Brought because it was the right deal at the right time. I'd have had a different make if that's what'd come up.

But as Dave says;
In my opinion there’s no bad mowers. Any 2.4m plain mower is going to cut grass adequately.
Bad mowers generally come from poor maintenance and rough operators

We have a Massey (Fella). It's better than the Kuhn it replaced, probably not as good as a Pottinger which our other dealer would have sold us but it was substantially cheaper and not worth it for the acres it cuts. Would buy again.
