we had our trusty dihatsu stolen from gathering yard (complete heap but handy around the fields and certainly not roadworthy ) other night, luckily i left literally a sniff of derv in it so they did not get far (further than i thought though a good 8 miles)

Luckily a friend who has a milk round spotted it neatly parked at 4.50am in a woodland walkers car park and told us it was there with make shift key removed so i suspect they intended to return :cautious:

I lock the gates so they had to smash trough fencing to take it which is why i started to look round for stuff missing!

police were really good and came out to look they just took this nothing else but a few have gone missing round here which raises question where there going and the direction this was heading but i wont make accusations? surely only worth something to someone who breaks them o_O

Anyway long story short we have cctv but that just means you can watch them steal your stuff so i asked how do i keep them away and plod recommended a nice loud alarm with door sensors on building which sounds sensible in combination with a few pir flood lights so what do people use and has anyone a recommendation ive seen some branded ones for as little as £150+ but would like plipers to disarm as we are in them a fair bit during day?

Simple PIR gate sensors, they vari in cost and range,
We have a single sensor setup at our gate to catch people entering our property with twin receivers they flash or chime, or both.
So your visitors will be heard if they return, one in the barn/shed so they know they are rumbled, the other in your house so you can ring the fuzz, when you check your camera feeds.....
I would think they were £20-£30 there were battery or mains powered.
9v battery in the sensor, is common it allows them to be anywhere.
They use radio signals to give good range.

Search driveway patrol alarm.
