Best Shear Grab?

Trying to find a decent second hand shear grab, but struggling to find any in good condition. Would be looking for something around 2 metres. Most that size have 3 rams, but some have 2, which is best? Have previously had a 2 ram Redrock Alligator but it has been nothing but trouble! Would love to get a new Albutt 2.2 metre 3 ram grab but £3,400 seems quite a lot at the minute! Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have got a 2.2m Albutt 3 ram with Hardox tines and very pleased with it. This replaced a 2m 3 ram Mchale which got scrapped after bending once to often, won't touch one of those again.
Highly recommended Hardox tines.

Only problem when it comes to sheargrabs there the one item thats bought and usually kept till there worn out, and any half tidy ones are usually priced over the odds!!

Mchale used to make the shear grab for albutt a few years back ! They no longer make one choosing to focus on balers etc.

I've a 2.2 Albutt, bought it thinking it would be the dogs wattsits it very disappointing 7/10 on grass but 0/10 on maize so we only cut grass silage.(n)

Anymore suggestions?
Got a conner here on a JCB 310s think its about 2 meters, only has 2 rams but does a decent job, used to have a R.R alligator with 3 rams seemed to fix a leak on one ram or pipe then have to do the next one, more pipes more rams more leaks, did do many years of good service though never broke or cracked just wear and tear.

I've got a ALO/Quickie one but only a 1.6 m

I'm happy with it designed in Sweden but built in PRC 2 years old and no issues.

Get an Albutt with hardox tines and be done with it. I would be happy to quote you for one.

I have also sold Redrock and strimech. The redrock ones were hit and miss ones was Junk! was not welded up right so kept on breaking blades all the time, this is going back a long time before they went bust and started again.

The strimech one I cant fault the grab at all its doing very well, last grab o sold was an Albutt because customer was in a hurry and didn't want to wait strimechs delivery time when Albutt had one in stock.

If going for Albutt then spec the filled in back. (or any make for that matter keeps the machine headstock cleaner)

Does it have bushes for the tines? Ours hasn't and after a couple of years it's about impossible to keep them tight. Also rams keep unscrewing the ends inside so one ram becomes longer than the other, wouldn't have another in a hurry
