Best sprayer tractor

Looking for people's views on best tractor for a mounted sprayer?

Have a 1900l front tank, 2000l rear with booms that fold up at back. Spraying circa 2000ha a year total. All cereals and liquid fert too.

Currently got a 2011 2170 fastrac 6500 hours, it's a bit noisy and uncomfortable, so looking to upgrade. Running 380 rowcrops at 80".

Would also hope to plough with whatever tractor I buy too so I can use it over winter. Got a 6f fully mounted KV with a packomat press so basically weight of a 7f mounted.

Currently ploughing with our t7 260, which also does drilling, mowers, hesston square baler. So would take some pressure off it. It's done 6k hours so should last a good while yet.

First choice would be a 4220 fastrac as like 4ws for ins/outs tramlines. Bit concerned about reliability though. Just bought new tyres for existing rowcrops too.

Would be 2nd hand. The weight of the sprayer loaded makes me think a heavier tractor would be better. It seems to be boss of the 2170 in some places. Also definitely want a vario transmission. The t7 is a auto command, really miss that gearbox when doing fieldwork with fastrac.

Just bought a Valtra 235 to pull a trailed sprayer. It and the Deere had the best ground clearance. Coupled with the vario and isobus it should be a good match. If not I will need to think again!! JCB was great on the road but just too expensive and have heard horror stories regarding reliability.

A lot of people round here including myself have moved away from Valtras as the new ones are so badly built, the Isobus was also really poor on it and slow to load etc. Now have a Fendt and couldn’t be happier with it!

I think you have answered your own question.
A JCB 4220 it is then. A chap your age will absolutely love it!
Buy as young as you can afford to get over the reliability problems of the earlier ones.

Though, IMO, I’d prefer it with the same transmission as the T7.

My JCB service engineer told me that Fendt insisted that JCB use the Sisu engine to go with their vario transmission on the 4000 series Fastracs.

I’ll be sticking with my (chipped) 2155 Fastrac and Landquip demount. It out-ploughs my NH T7050!
A coupe of years ago, I ploughed 30 acres, then sprayed 150 acre of Rape on the same day.

I’d say whichever you prefer to drive with all those acres to do. I’m on my 2nd 724 with a 4000l trailed and it’s great. Should definitely be on your have a look list. Lots of Fastracs around if you like the look of one.

I know you have the blue version but what about a case?
My mate runs a 230 cvx doing pretty much what you want.does contract spraying with it round here.has the contract for carrot job does a lot of acres with it.
Would guess you could find a decent 2nd hand one cheaper than other makes too?

I have mine on a Maxxum CVX, lightweight and very manoeuvrable, need to keep enough weight in the front tank though.

I managed to blag the posh tractor for a day back in the spring and it was 😍. Everything runs through the integrated drop down screen and a nicer cab.

My gen 6 is great for spraying. Isobus on one screen and satnav on another. Still space for the camera or anything else I like. Quite like the map on the dash. 👍

Oh go on, go on, u know u want to get a fendt 😉
I do, but I'm erring towards fastrac cause I have rowcrops and flotations for it already.

Can't really justify either. Would make financial sense to buy another NH. But getting to the stage in life I'd rather live like a millionaire than die one. As my son pointed out the other day I spend more time in tractor than I do in house.
