Best sprayer tractor

Those T7 aren't small- they are great tractors.
Case salesman maintains that the Puma 240CVX back end isn't heavy enough for a 6f fully mounted as it chews the seals on the cross shaft. I'd imagine that the same would be true for a T7.
I've got both, and the plough is running as a 5f, with the '+1' sitting on a pallet :(

I do, but I'm erring towards fastrac cause I have rowcrops and flotations for it already.

Can't really justify either. Would make financial sense to buy another NH. But getting to the stage in life I'd rather live like a millionaire than die one. As my son pointed out the other day I spend more time in tractor than I do in house.
I dont get to spend as much time behind the wheel as i used to as more and more of it seems to be spent workin with animals and fixin stuff, BUT if i was sprayin the amount u do and ploughin all that ground id be doin it in either a fendt or jd cab. Having said that i recently got a drive in a 718 power i think it was and a jd 155r ultimate with command pro. The jd was nice but it aint no fendt.

The NH dealer said it would be fine.🤷‍♂️ phoned them before I bought 6f with press.

The cross shaft and drop arms were replaced just before warranty out. Didn't have 6f then.

The replacement cross shaft was completely different. They said they had modified them. Haven't had any more problems with cross shaft since.

Have never really struggled to pull the 6f. Only issue is weight. If boards not cleaning and packomat full of earth it's slow to lift. Need to keep check chains etc tight. Ploughs a vari width, so just shut it down if struggling for grip.

If I buy one, the chap I buy it from will likely modify it to suit what I want to do.🤦‍♂️ he's quite handy with a laptop

I was hoping someone would talk me out of it, but so far nobody has.

If they banned pre harvest glyphosate I could nearly do everything with 1 tractor.

Rowcrops and sprayer could come off big tractor in a fortnight and i could square bale and sow osr etc with it.

If that was the case I would just buy a new 724 and trade in the fastrac and the 260. But it's not.

Was going to go down the road of a mounted sprayer on fastrac too. Have a 2170 with 3500L trailed sprayer here Chae. Local Amazone dealer brought out a 2000 L mounted sprayer with 1500L front tank. All mounted on a 724….. we only put 500L in but it was one of the smoothest tractors on the road. But it was leaving too deep of ruts on old ploughing which turned me off it for winter spraying. Had to disc a small paddock recently but the only way in was to go down a tramline. So put the 3m disc on the fastrac on 420 tyres and it turned me off the idea of mounted sprayer on the fastrac completely…. The back of the tractor was all over the place…. Would definitely stick to something with full size back wheels…. What about a S/H T7.225 and keep the 7.260 for ploughing?

No point trying to talk someone out of foing something they've already decided upon 🤣

Pictures pictures pictures! What sprayer have you? Can you s 6DD95DFA-3E38-4D87-8037-02772C7CEF33.jpeghow us it all hooked up and with your isobus/screen all running?
The sprayer is currently doing the shows on the Horsch stand. Will be here in August hopefully

Looking for people's views on best tractor for a mounted sprayer?

Have a 1900l front tank, 2000l rear with booms that fold up at back. Spraying circa 2000ha a year total. All cereals and liquid fert too.

Currently got a 2011 2170 fastrac 6500 hours, it's a bit noisy and uncomfortable, so looking to upgrade. Running 380 rowcrops at 80".

Would also hope to plough with whatever tractor I buy too so I can use it over winter. Got a 6f fully mounted KV with a packomat press so basically weight of a 7f mounted.

Currently ploughing with our t7 260, which also does drilling, mowers, hesston square baler. So would take some pressure off it. It's done 6k hours so should last a good while yet.

First choice would be a 4220 fastrac as like 4ws for ins/outs tramlines. Bit concerned about reliability though. Just bought new tyres for existing rowcrops too.

Would be 2nd hand. The weight of the sprayer loaded makes me think a heavier tractor would be better. It seems to be boss of the 2170 in some places. Also definitely want a vario transmission. The t7 is a auto command, really miss that gearbox when doing fieldwork with fastrac.
Didn’t think you would be saying the 2170 was uncomfortable?

I made a mess this spring putting liquid fert on with fastrac. For reasons you mention. Have bought urea for next spring as I can throw it on with tractor with big rear wheels.

I'm kind of wanting to move away from new holland to be honest. Was let down with a big breakdown they walked away from. 5 figure repair.

I'm a fat barsteward. The seat doesn't go far enough back. It's also the noise. There are modifications to move exhaust away from cab to sort that issue. Its 11 years old now and things have moved on. Getting into the t7 260 auto command after driving that thing for weeks is like jumping into a ferrari!🤣

I'm getting new tyres on it in morning. Hopefully that will improve ride a bit. Current ones aren't rated for weight of outfit so up about 40 psi. So no give in them, there solid.

a Fendt 724 will be hard to beat for what you are looking for , if you buy a fastrac , it will need a remap & if it is like most fastrac's it will not be with out its problems

I know it’s not the topic of the thread but why have you discounted a self propelled sprayer? Surely during your busy spells the tractors always on the sprayer anyway?

A self propelled is generally worth nothing when it's old and done I think?

Perhaps wrong.

Used tractor and mounted sprayer should have used value. Bigger market.

I'm only really tied to one tractor once rowcrops on. May to September. Rest of time it could go on other tractor. Doesn't take long to put on/take off

If self propelled tractor unit stops the whole outfits stopped. Least with this I have option of putting it on another tractor.

The 260 should last longer as doing less work not ploughing over winter.

At present the 2170 hauls cattle feed and cattle around the countryside in winter. With current fuel prices been using lorries.

Is only done 6500 hours at 11 years old.
