Best Suited Baler For Me

Krone Comprima V150.. Does all you ask and well priced!
All well and good on a dry time… a bit of snotty wet silage or young silage and you’ll just end up with sponges…
Mchale, never had bad bales in silage/haylage and straw
Mchale belt bales won’t bale wet silage but the single belt balers probably manage it the best on the market… and the roller balers make pretty nice looking straw bales but nowhere near the straw in them that a belt baler will put in… the point was more why buy a machine too do everything badly.. most farmers would throw a tantrum if they rang somebody too come round bale there straw and they rocked up with a roller baler, but yet seem perfectly happy too bale straw with roller balers themselves….

Apart from 1-2 Kuhn and Krones it’s all Mchales Fusions here. They do the job well and 235kg in barley straw is plenty tight enough 👍🏻
I used a Welger 520 when I was up your way @Mc115reed and it was an animal in straw but rubbish in silage, unless a massive crop the belt would jump too - even in straw 😭 Not many balers you can get up to 30kmh in wheat behind a 25’ Claas mind to get 6’ bales - if the belts were better it would have been an epic baler!

Looking at buying a round baler. We mainly do Hay And Straw But also a fair bit of silage. Want to do a fair bit of contracting so want a fairly reliable baler.
Just wondering would a chopper be suited. Roughly 5k budget.

Krone round pack or vario pack would be my best bet... but with your budget the main focus must be on the condition of the baler not the brand... and nothing will be ideal... with rollers youll have problems with dry straw and with belts with wet silage.

Been better going and sitting in house till 7 pm and sun and heat gone and bales through night

I've seen him now and he's fuming. His NH baler is 8 years old and just keeps going. Its already baled 400ac of grass twice and 80ac of barley this year with zero issues. The JD managed a massive 3 acres in 12 hours! He told the dealer to bring his NH back until they sort this JD out as he's got 1000ac of baling in front of him. Apparently if it managed to feed, it then threw the net off. The dealer salesman couldn't get it going so he called for a fitter who also had no luck, so now they are awaiting cleverer help as he called it.

The best baler your gonna get for your budget and too do what you want it too do is the contractors baler on the contractors tractor and he sends you an invoice 😭 there isn’t a baler on the market that bales silage well, and bales hay and straw well… 2 totally different machines…
Got a Welker...bales everything I throw at it and bales them well.

Different peoples opinions… I go square baling at a place that bale there own rounds with a welger and a rollant and they think they make a good bale… and tbh they don’t look a bad bale, but you could pop the centres out and climb in and make a den in there they’re that soft

Probably more to do with driver error and lack of experience . I've never had those problems with the 445 .

Franks curtis have a couple of vicon 1601s advertised and a basic welger 402 if you happen to find a little bit extra tucked away under your mattress !
