Lanz was good, burn anything without computers or even electrics!deutz air cooled (8006/10006). what about lanz bulldog?
The sisu 7.4 is a total beast once its run in at around 2000 hours. Wont give in and quite frugal. Best bit about a new massey whereas the rest of it is mediocreAgcoPower 7.4 and FPT (6cyl and the bigger 4cyl (4.5l)).
Ours used to do pretty much everything, it was our main tractor until we switched the second tractor, a 2130, for a JD6200 which was swapped for JD6400.Mine needed three clutches [my father always started off a gear too high with eight ton silage trailers behind], at least one slave cylinder, rebuilt HiLo unit and PTO clutch and a replacement auto hitch, all before 6000 hours. Then at about 9000 it needed a rebuilt main hydraulic pump. That’s about it really. It was worked very hard and did thousands of acres with Kidd Klipper drum mowcons and eight ton silage trailers behind. On mixer wagon all winters.
I knew of a 2140 that used to lug a 4 furrows reversible overm ploughOurs used to do pretty much everything, it was our main tractor until we switched the second tractor, a 2130, for a JD6200 which was swapped for JD6400.
Prior to the 6200 arriving it used to run the Fhar FH900 chopper and tow a 8 tonne fraser silage trailer behind it, it must have been slow to be fair but it did it. All with 81hp sounds mad now doesn't it.
I mate used to pull a 5 furrow rev with a JD1640 back in the dayI knew of a 2140 that used to lug a 4 furrows reversible overm plough
I once heard of a 3640 that was tweaked when on a Dyno in a search for power for foraging ... They never found all the bits when it blew upI mate used to pull a 5 furrow rev with a JD1640 back in the day
Back when men were men and sat out in the open on steel seats 30-40 horse power pulled a three furrow plough up and over the downs, I guess soil was easier back then because now 200 hp will only pull 6 furrows and then only if the gps is working. joking aside I ploughed many acres with a 5 furrow kv conventional in a ford 5000. carrying a 5 reversible on a little Deere must have required a sh1t ton of weight up front.I mate used to pull a 5 furrow rev with a JD1640 back in the day
