Old dexta had a wash today, what’s the best thing to wipe over the tin work with to help preserve it and make it look smart? Cheers!

What sort of oil is best to mix and what sort of oil diesel ratio? Cheers
If I don't have any "clean" waste oil (i.e. stuff that's come out of a light duty petrol engine or tractor transmission/backend), I use hydraulic oil because it's by far the cheapest oil I have, mixed 50/50 with diesel. Put it in a spray bottle, shake it up, spray it on, wipe it down.

As above, if the machine lives outside or does a lot of work in the rain, the oil/diesel mix won't last and you'll have to go with a more long term solution. I've used this on some of my gear, it protects well and has been on for well over 12 months now, but it's far too expensive for my liking and it leaves a slightly sticky/waxy residue which attracts dust. Easy to remove with degreaser, but makes your machine look like sh!t in the mean time.

We have tried this stuff and so far quite impressed but does leave surfaces tacky wouldn’t use it on body panels but chassis axles linkages etc

Used to give things a wipe over with TVO - only bother was if there was a bit of a blow and half the farmyard dust got blown over it ended up looking like a hedgehog…
