Bought a Ford
Lived happily ever after
two tractors i have had one was an Ursus c385 two-wheel-drive had it twelve years apart from a set of tyres spent ÂŁ140.00 on it and the maxum 5130 it's first 7000 hrs spent either ploughing Dowdeswell four furrow auto-reset and a four-meter power harrow, still have it these days spends its life on the hedge cutter and post knocker had new track rod ends and a new handbrake because some mupet drove it with the hand brake on
Local farm to here had two 5130s, always complaining they barely had enough power to drive the hedge cutter! I’m amazed you got one to power a 4m power harrow, 5140, a different story!maxum 5130 it's first 7000 hrs spent either ploughing Dowdeswell four furrow auto-reset and a four-meter power harrow, still have it these days spends its life on the hedge cutter and post knocker had new track rod ends and a new handbrake because some mupet drove it with the hand brake on
Pah. We had an N121 before our maxxum 125, 2012, hopeless machine. Sold it for not much on the trade in. They pinched some wires when the cab went on, so the blowers were always bad. Then the thing was falling apart. 7yr old and 5k hours and it was leaking oil and making a very odd noise from one of the wheels. Clutch was an on off switch, cab was made from plastic, and generally the build quality wasn't up to par. The controls were bad as well, pto switch the exact same as every other button, so once the paint wore off you would be stuck in an emergency with the pto going till you found the switch. Push out hitch was extremely stiff to release. I could go on but I won't. Maxxum seems far better built and far better laid out in the cab. Would have another case but I'd stay away from valtras like that in future.Valtra 121, bought as a demonstrater in 2012, fueled up to 150 HP at the PTO, hardly put a spanner on it in 7000 hours, relegated to 'spare' now, but probably will outlast the Kubotas that replaced it.
I drove a 5130 and 5140 from the same year and on the same farm and the 5130 and I always thought it was almost as good as the 5140. Sounded really nice tooLocal farm to here had two 5130s, always complaining they barely had enough power to drive the hedge cutter! Our old girl is still up to the hedge cutter we use it on 1000 pto to with reduced revs trundles along all-day it saves putting scratches on the poncy green and yellowsLocal farm to here had two 5130s, always complaining they barely had enough power to drive the hedge cutter! what did you say? speak up I cant hear you, don't be a wus i spent years driving a Fordson major with a straight-six and a straight-through exhaust carting grassWhat did you have to spend on the hearing loss?
The engine on the 5140 can be opened up, with the turbo. Engine is used in 300hp + applications, obviously the tractor downstream of the engine isn’t capable of taking this!I drove a 5130 and 5140 from the same year and on the same farm and the 5130 and I always thought it was almost as good as the 5140. Iv heard that of the early ones, we have a 5130 plus with 11000hrs on and its always been fit, been worked hard from the start, 5f rev and 3m combi.
