Looking at putting up a hay/machinery shed early next year, fairly exposed location, just wondering what is the best type of cladding to put on the sides , will be fitted above 1500mm concrete panels,

Yeah, Didnt find them vent sheets to let in enough air for livestock shed, especially when dust and cobwebs built up on them.

But it they could ideal for hay, let a bit of air in but no wet like you say..easier and quick to put up as well.
Will need to keep the bales away from them tho because they can easily crease if a bale leans against it.

Metal sheeting definitely not faster than boarding.

I do think metal looks nice but personally I would space board, if I was concerned with weather still blowing in, "weather board" basically put another board over every gap.
Or put the 2nd layer on inside of purlins.

My cattle sheds with Yorkshire board more blows under them then over pannels than actually comes through gaps
