Teaglepossibly thinking of getting a new spreader, around under 10t models, monty has a bunning and seems happy with that, but what others are worth a look in? cheers
Really? according to marshalls website its about 17k new, would have thought maybe the smallest ktwo and the bunning would be abit cheaperFor a small rear discharge, value for money there is nothing, I repeat, nothing, that beats a Marshall Versuvius.
The purchase price is far lower than anything. The workrate and spread pattern in court dung is very good. Change to slurry or hen pen, and no vertical beater chain floor machine can better the spread pattern.
Maintenance and running costs are negligible, especially since there's no chains!
I've hired bunning, k2, and samson machines. I demo'ed a used Versuvius and bought it after the second load.
cheer's, shame they don't put the prices up, make life easierA re-con K2 is £12-14K
aye saw that on ebay, for 750 less, lolhttp://www.rbellagricultural.co.uk/usedmachineryforsale.htm
Don't know anything about it but it looks a tidy spreader
That's retail.Really? according to marshalls website its about 17k new, would have thought maybe the smallest ktwo and the bunning would be abit cheaper
Indeed. I did not pay anywhere near the price on the site for a side discharge Marshall, but I do like it when manufacturers put some kind of price on their site. It gives one a starting point. That's retail.
Dealer will be about 25% less
For a farm machine, the Versuvius really does warrant a demo!
at a rough guess, 1500 tons a year , could hire one, but they only do massive ones and my dad likes to have his own kit anyway so as not to rely on anyone,How much muck do you have to spread each year?
atm we have a ms60 and had a pipe swapped when we bought it sh, shame the ram seals gone, but they all seem to do itIndeed. Edit: Two things I beat myself up about: not speccing the led lights and the galvanised finish. I don't know what I was thinking at the time. The only complaint I have is the fact that the hydraulic hose for the lid has perished after a year. It's not the end of the world because I now open it with the bucket and then keep it open with a strategically placed log that has been cut to fit perfectly between the lid and the side.
On mine the actual hose appears to have small holes just before the hose disappears under the spreader and you can see the hydraulic fluid coming out when you try to open the lid. There was a lot of swearing when I first discovered this the first time I tried to use it this year.atm we have a ms60 and had a pipe swapped when we bought it sh, shame the ram seals gone, but they all seem to do it
it was a luxury really when we got it hooked up, had another ms60 before with a knackered lid we'd just open with the bucket like you , 70 quid for the hoseOn mine the actual hose appears to have small holes just before the hose disappears under the spreader and you can see the hydraulic fluid coming out when you try to open the lid.
