Hi TFF,

After some tips on quick and easy ways to keep calf rearing equipment clean?

Takes ages washing milk bars, buckets, mixer, etc. twice a day, with lots of bending down to wash stuff. So keen to hear how others do it.

Steam cleaner. I don't buy any feeders that are complicated. So none with individual segments as they are harder to clean.

I use the water from the hot circulation wash after its done its bit, and the tank brush which has a long handle, put my foot on things to hold them still, no bending, wifey if she does it uses a small brush, lots of bending, looks like hard work, but she is shorter so the long handled brush would probably be hard work.

Each individual and group of calves have their own feeder here and they don't get washed every feed. Put some fresh water in after milk and calves drink it and wash teat internally.
Good idea (y) what feeders do you use? 5 teat milk bars here.

Rinse, then cup of hydrosan powder in first clean bucket ,hot water ,good brush then use this water to wash rest of buckets and feeders and rinse all with hot water twice a day.

Individual buckets in single calf pens, so a splash of hot water with a squirt of H2O2, squeeze it through the teat, then another splash of hot water, squeeze through the teat to rinse. This keeps the buckets clean enough to only have to wash intensively once a week. Big milk bars, splash the hot water and H2O2 into them, swirl it around and then rinse with plain hot water. H2O2 kills everything except Crytpo I believe.?
