Best way to get the smell of diesel off…a dogs head!

Doing it for the kids

Had an unfortunate chain of events whilst teaching the kids how to blow back the fuel tank feed line to get the crap out of it today. Bloody dog came in to help and at that exact moment it spurted out of the fuel tank she walked by and it drenched her head.

She’s had a quick wash with some hand cleanser which has helped but she still stinks, it’s not gone down too well in the house!! She isn’t bothered by it other than the lack of cuddles from the family due to the stench.

I’m not one for washing dogs, they get hosed down when they have rolled in something but a hose pipe isn’t much help here.

I also hate the smell of diesel so it’s a double pain! I cans me,l her from here and she’s 5 metres away🤢

Ketchup works on fox crap I’m informed by our in house dog appreciation society, but they’re unsure on diesel. I suppose brake cleaner and/or paint thinner is a bit nippy/flammable to try?…. 🐕‍🦺🔥

Washing up liquid, plenty of it. Rinse with warm water, in the shower we found the easiest and repeat.

Had similar issue when the terrier went ratting in the workshop, went In tan came out black covered in old engine oil and central heating oil.
Ours were on a hot scent of a rat behind a tall cabinet in the workshop, they rattled it just enough that it knocked a can of expanding foam off the top and it hit the floor and exploded

I’d rather try get rid of the diesel smell than the expanding foam again 🤦‍♂️

Unbelievably, there is something called "The Pawfume Shop" (Google it). Would be an interesting phone call if nothing else.

Plus, I believe, Dolce & Gabanna have just launched a new dog perfume called "Fefe". A snip at £83 plus delivery

Yup, Fairy liquid in the bath.

The cat arrived in the bedroom one night and felt ‘wet’. Long story short, he’d been in the workshop and jumped off the bench on to a 20L drum in the dark. Unbeknownst to him, the top had been cut off to catch waste oil out of the combine, hence 3 very thorough washes with Fairy in the bath at 4am…

Most washing machines seem to have a baby cycle although haven’t tried one personally but do they have a canine cycle……
Reminds me of a cartoon about washing cats. The author (named as a mr D Ogg) recommended putting shampoo in the toilet, popping puss in and shutting the lid. The resultant “self agitation” would ensure thorough coverage and the cycle was completed by a couple of “rinse” flushes. 👌
