Best way to implement Kverneland Geospread

Hi

We are about to buy a new spreader and like the KV Geo.

It will be mounted on a JD6430 with manual spools and no screens. We don't have any gps or isobus equipment in the tractor.

What do you think will be the most economical, flexible and easy system to buy?

It must be possible to add a N-sensor in a few years time, and possibly move to another tractor of unknown make.

I can supply a Topcon x30 screen, ISO loom and GPS receiver for about 5k it will give you ISO rate and section control of the kv as well as vra and the option to add on the crop scanning in the future.

You have no shortage of options. I bought a Geospread a couple of years ago and had to make an executive decision to pick a reasonable option and go with it. Like yourself I didn't have any isobus of gps worth mentioning before and wanted to get GPS steering while I was at it. The possibilities seemed endless. I decided on Trimble gear, a NH FM-1000 using isobus control. Like the Topcon, it gives the option of adding in features like N sensors at a later date.

It works well enough, though the isobus system with only one screen for everything isn't slick. If I bought again I would be tempted to get a seperate control box for the spreader so I have seperate screens for the spreader and GPS steering. The KV Tellus isobus terminal with twin screens would be good idea if it could do the steering as well. Isobus control with the 1000 was cheaper than a 750 and the non iso control box for the spreader.

For swapping the steering between tractors, hub motors like the ez-pilot are not convenient. I would like to try a unit like the Ag Leader OnTrac that has a ring gear attached to each steering wheel a quickly clips on/off.

So many choices :scratchhead:

Split screen, in this shot, ISO is main view, guidance is mini view. Simply swipe screen to right to make ISO mini and guidance main.

Very helpfull input. Thanks!

Dual screens or at least split screen seems like a good idea(didn't think of that). The system should be able to do auto steer as well

The Topcon screen looks interesting. Let you know if we take that road.

Look at the kv own screen. Tellus. It can be a fully independent system, will fit any tractor. There was talk of kubota using it for steering too, not heard any more on that though.

Also want to remember if you go to Trimble ect when you come to sell your spreader you'll have to get new boxes etc depends how long your keeping it

Not quite true Quattro. If the next buyer has either an ISO screen such as Topcon x30/x25 or an ISO screen in tractor them they too don't need a control box
If you were the dealer taking it in px next time would you take a chance on finding someone with a Iso screen/topcon box

Box will be £3000 extra. So it's worth £3000 less at time of trade in. Have you really lost? You are using it as a business tool not keeping it good for its next owner!

Trimble, JD and many more can do ISO. If you plan to keep it 10 years I'd say those that have ISO screen in 10 years will outnumber those that don't by 5-1

Vicon go box is about £1500 that does vra/auto section I don't know if it does n sensor also does std isobus do auto section if £1500 on a17/18k machine isn't affordable you maybe can't afford that machine

Talked to a Yara salesrep today and he didn´t think Tellus isobus would work.
The only isobus system that works is the largest greenstar screen.

Confusing...

He will get back to me.

Won't work with the n sensor? Speak to kverneland, they know what will and won't work. Works with soyl n sense files for variable rate n.

We picked up our kv exacta to 3900 geo spread this afternoon, fully Isobus (no kv screen) all running through John Deere 2630 screen, section control, autotrac steering, vra, and n sensor and a camera input. One panel does it all.

Have you looked at latest Claas Isaria sensor offering? They're touting it as fully independently ISO compatible. First for a crop sensor apparently.
Would think that make a busy ISO bus screen with guidance spreader lsaria

Will it work on any ISO bus screen ??
Was told it's only on the claas screen
