Best welding auto helmet

+1, looking for the answer to this too

I guess most people weld inside and not relying on overhead lights

Have the same problem, wear glasses and have old eyes so seeing the weld a real problem. I did find once that using an old tea towel as a sort of scarf around the back of the neck and helmet helped a little.

3m speed glass, only get one set of eyes these days. Buy a cheap one and get low level arc eye over a few years and you degrade your eyesight massively. I quite fancy one of those optrel sentinel masks.

I got 1 and like it a lot👍

+1 re the light inside helmet reflecting.
Ive a gu10 spot on bench on a flexy arm thing , lidl special, great but uve to make sure light is infront ,or it reflects inside and really lowers what u can see when welding.
Same under a vehicle or symular when uve a lamp ........

Speedglas was to expensive for my liking. Don't mind spending the money but I'll break it one way or the other so I bought a beta. Welding is a breeze but it seems a bit flimsy. We'll see.

I too have had the problem of only seeing the arc and not the workpiece when the glass darkens. I have turned the darkening down but then its quite sore on my eyes without seeing much more of the work piece. I don't have this problem with the old hand held visor and piece of dark glass. What's going on?
I don't like anything with a grind switch as usually I forget to switch it back to weld and give myself a blast.
