Hi all,Just wondered what make of wellies people recomend for working in , I currently have a pair of Muck Boots they are not bad but I find that they do not grip too well on slippery mud, the type that there was in places at lamma also Hunters will not be on my list as the one pair that I have owned I did not like,I am just looking for a pair of comfortable wellies that do not break the bank.

I wore a pair of muck boots to lamma. Found they were great in the mud, but slippy on damp concrete and the mats they had in the tents.

Le Chameaus - best 'luxury' purchase I've ever made. Not the extra fancy full zipper models, just the basic one. They've lasted for years (used to get through multiple pairs of cheap wellies in a year), I've climbed mountains in them with no major discomfort, and no more cold feet in the winter. If they fit your feet well, I'd say they're worth the extra money.

Thanks @grumpy - there goes my Friday night!!

Hi Norse,
Do you want safety toe cap? Do you farm and if yes, with animals? What's the terrain like that you're walking on and what's the budget for what you want to spend? I'll certainly try to recommend a few options for you!

Hi,I am not wanting safety toecap,I am looking for something that can be worn all day without causing discomfort around the yard a bit of livestock work, some tractor driving and the odd day at a sale or show like lamma,as for the budget i was thinking £60 +/-,I do not think with footwear it pays to skimp if it is something that I intend to wear all day long, cheap ones are ok if you want to throw them on for half an hour on the odd occasion.

Hmmm I would probably suggest the following

1. Dunlop purofort - £60ish dependent on if you choose professional or plus
2. Grubs Fenline - like the muck boot but better sole and around £60
3. Seeland Moor Stable - similar to above
4. Le chameau Ceres neo - warm and with a Michelin tyre tread sole - £100 ex vat
5. Best grip and longest life on Aigle parcours 2 ISO with 5mm neoprene lining - £116 ex vat

I would say that they are your best all terrain with grip options!

I got a pair of Aigle parcours 2 ISO for Christmas thanks to the advise on here from @QueenWellington and apart from going to bed have hardly taken them off. I used not to wear wellies much, but now when I wear my steel toe cap boots they feel like cogs.
The grip of the Aigles is far superior to my Muck Boots especially on smooth wet concrete.

Same for me but le chem ceres were my gift for xmas. Love them, only ever wore wellies when I really had to, over wise always wore work boots but the le chem's are not 1st pick and I spend a lot of time walking stock in tough terrain........was docking ewes in them the other day but thats prob not advisable ;)

@exmoor dave how are you getting on with your Cotswolds, cant fault mine so far, bit slippy at times but 25 quid was a bargain!

Ummmmmmm........don't really want to upset queenwellington........but not so well. Right foot one split right in the middle of heel on the under side and heel collapsed. They were very good up till that point thou! Could have done with more grip.

Have you brought them back to the branch? If not, can you drop them into south molton so I can have a look at them? They shouldn't have split so soon!! Prefer honest feedback - thanks Dave!
