Might take a week-2-week snapshot to see the trends.

The odds are shortening on remain in this last week....

the polling methodology has changed abit over the last week, but john curtice said not much has changed, most of the big swings are via phone polls, but he was suggesting some of the demographics that had been polled recently were university students

also worth noting, just because there is money on remain, does not mean it's on for remain to win, on exchanges such as betfair and ladbrokes, you can lay against remain to win, where as in betfair there is a lot of money in that market, 25 grand laid against remain to a 20 grand to win remain.

I quite liked the odds so stuck a few quid on us to leave.

Suspect the comment above 'Inclined to stay from a selfish point of view' will be a lot of people's vote, and on the other side it depends what headlines are on the Sun and Daily Mail on the morning of the vote.

I was in the bookies earlier today and was stunned to see the current odds on the brexit.............with the leave campaign at 9/2 at Paddy Power and Remain at 1/8 !!
When you consider our forum vote has Leave at 66% you do wonder where the bookies are coming from in this two horse race!
There is still the best part of a month to go, and who knows what might happen and have a catalytic effect on peoples decision making. Even if I were voting to stay (which Im not) I would be having a modest wager on "Leave" at such absurdly generous odds(y)

Hmmm, Ever considered the possibility that the bookies have been "coerced" into offering such stark odds, and help create a meme to guarantee the globalists the outcome they wish for?
I wouldn't give the remain campaign the steam of my tea

Bookies don't get these things wrong very often,at 1/8 to remain there must be virtually zero 'serious' money on brexit hence it's any odds you want on leave(not always right,Leicester City at 2000/1 or more proves that, but for every £1 bet on them there was thousands put down on other teams, bookies wailing about it are lying through their teeth..)

Check betfair's lay market on remain, there is consistently more money on bets to lay against the remain vote, than a straight bet for remain or brexit.

But in general political outcomes are predicted pretty well by betting patterns, as people bet the way they intend to vote.

Which this time doesnt make overly much sense as more people are betting to leave, but people betting to stay are putting more money on. So call that....
https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/#/politics/market/1.118739911

Just checked, there is 17 grand on remain to win and 47 grand laid against remain to win, so effectively 30 grand on brexit more

Nice bit of propaganda / marketing from Ladbrooks. No doubt plenty more fools will put their last few bob on leave. After all leaving is a gamble and attracts gamblers. Why not go full monty and gamble on the gamble [emoji95]
That sounds like someone with the windup.....I've put a bet on leaving, so did my teenage son. At least if you put a bet on you have a definate interest one way or other in the result hence you're no longer apathetic or undecided.

ajcc, I once knew an avid football supporter who, every single match, bet on his team losing. His argument was that if they won he did not mind losing the money, and if they lost, he had some consolation in winning money. Cannot remember whether or not he covered a draw.
