I'm not sure it matters now. The moment had long passed. Have said all along members will make there own choice as to where they prefer

Would anyone have bothered to restore it if TFF didn't exist ?

I'm sure Blues advertisers will be much happier now it looks a lot busier at least !

Great to have all that work back in the Interweb - it was a great loss. Wonder if it because of the comparative statistics. The posts were beginning to look a little weak. Now it looks like this:

Think there is still some work to do on the membership!

it is good to be able go back and pick out information that you might need from time to time ,
for most old posts they are like keeping for years the last Farmers weekly , to find after 10 years you have not looked at one a second time , as far as advertising i think it is good to be up front with advertising , it costs money to run a forum , some times a better forum can be had if the money is put in , but if it is just a way of making money and putting nothing back in , and having to mod if people say bad things about fastcrap or other behind the door type advertising, because there is 3 different types of advertising , 1 your goggle spot which makes little difference to me , 2 the maker of x that gives a free tractor or free feeder to guy ( this type buying of people is better known in the likes of print media where the writer is known by his readers and can put in a plug every now and again for said machine , on a forum it can take the way of keeping threads from saying machine x is better that the one that has paid the boss to mod in a way that is very interdiction of free speech , 3th way is more sneaky where the advertiser does or does not pay but is a leading poster on threads around his field pushing his brand but not letting it be known to every body that he is the owner or working for this brand

If you remove the spammers that sign up and are then banned from their membership number after their first moderated post that never actually makes it to the forum, I think you could at least half the number displayed in the stats - we don't do it like that here we stop spammers joining in the first place, if we didn't our member number would be 10's of thousands by now but I would rather keep things honest and factual

The stat that matters really if your wish to compare is numbers online - last night we had over 500, that stat cant be seen on BFF so no idea how it would compare but I do doubt it would be that high

I keep saying it but I believe that members will make there own minds up where they want to post or where they find most useful, I have no problem with BFF's existence but I'm not sure they can say the same about this place if any of the bitter comments and lies / conjecture about me and TFF that have been posted there are anything to go by. I have not let myself get dragged into such petty discussions. I would rather be judged by the positive things I am trying to do here

If nothing else I would say that the existence of TFF has pushed them to get the old content back ?? something they refused to do when requested after the hacking and repeatedly said they wouldn't do, so it seems thats one positive thing TFF has achieved for BFF members hey !!

Use which ever forum you find most useful, friendly, relevant, easy to use and helpful or use them both as many do, there is no problem with that at all

As for content that's down to you guys - post the topics and questions you want to see, a forum is what it's members make it so make it your own !!

Getting this place going and providing what members ask for has been a lot of hard work by all involved, the stats behind the site show me that many of you like it, for example did you know that everyday almost as many pm's are sent between members as we see posts !! make no mistake this is a very busy forum and still just over 2 months old

There is much more to come from TFF over the next few months, all stuff designed to make it a better and more useful place for members whilst keeping advert free

Thanks to everyone for your support, we will continue to listen to what you want and do our best to provide it for as long as you continue to use the community created here. For those that maybe prefer BFF or dislike what we have done here, that's fine with me, the doors are open to all here so next time BFF is hacked you know where to find us !!

as a poster on bff i do not start a new topic on there which i would do here because the rules there are not clear as to what can be posted and what can not , off topic is not there but they end up with more off topic

What does it matter? Some people are on both, some just favour one. I have no agenda, I signed up to both, posted on both, but the tumbleweed over there was deafening:rolleyes: The alerts on here are very clever-knowing someone has replied to you keeps you coming back. Maybe I'm not part of the clique, but there's definitely a masonic air over there. I'm staying here, but I don't care what anyone else chooses to do-it's a free country:)

Me too. I'm on both and it's a free country. I find the TFF mobile app really useful and for threads I am following it always takes me straight to the unread posts

I cant find any trace of the archive anyway o_O

I don't think there's anything on Agricultural Matters but just went to livestock and forage and it's tagged on at the end-posts from Feb 2012. Just go to the last thread in each category and you'll see(y)
