Big bag spear

I’ve seen a spear that can be put into the bottom of a big fertiliser bag so that a small quantity can be dropped into a spreader and then sealed off again. I’m sure someone will know what I mean and where I can get one?

Chris H has one, think it works pretty well. Ask mark.

This is the one I use.
Have raimo and weaving .
Weaving in my opinion is best .

I’d say the style you drop bag onto would be safest in operation. I have the type that you screw into bag & am always wary about doing so from underneath

I have had both. The Raimo one only lasted a year with me. It was a bit of pain to screw it in every time but it never fell out to be fair. It broke when I put the bag down too quickly. I have one the same as the Weaving one but is called a vid bag. Got it from William Lyndsay on eBay. Much prefer this one. Had it a few years now.

How often do you put in half a bag and then need to keep the rest for a long time? I'd tend to just put a cut in the side and let it out down to the line, if I wanted a half bag. For just a hundred kilos, I find a bucket into the top is incredibly quick - cut the tie and open her up, then put the tag back on after if needed.. It's something like 15kg a bucket from memory, and if it's right next to the hopper it's very easy.
