Sorry this was a really stupid post, should really say they are Texels and Suffolk x gimmers and ewes. On bare pastures, no grass growth, SE Scotland.

It also depends what else you’re feeding them, what stage of the production cycle they’re at, breed & weight of sheep, etc.

As a rough guide, they should consume roughly 2% of body weight as DM per day for maintenance, rising to approx 4% of body weight during lactation. That should allow you to work out some ‘fag packet’ figures, which are as accurate as you need.

That’s what mine do. I make roughly 0.75 a piece

If i’M looking short up to lambing into spring buy some beets.

If their not being fed anything else, locked inside, I think 120 with me were doing 2 bales every 4 days.
I work on 10%. 1300 ewes +35 rams and 130 bales Usually leaves me with me a few spare

Approx 50..to 75 depending on density of bale and availability will be fine

@hendrebc figured it out for me, taking into account other foods
But I had 150 inside, caking them, and they did half a 4 string quad per day. Anymore and they left it
