I’d say it was 10-12kg in weight but have asked the lad to weigh it

I hate that when that happens. Big lamb, jams everything and the small lamb dies while it is waiting for the blockage to clear.

Mules are good at this. A mule has had her body lengthened and made wider by the BFL Ram. Genetics has little to do with it. About 0.010%. It is all about what part of the placenta the embryo attaches to. The smaller lamb was attached downstream.

We have had a few 18 lb. lambs delivered before. Average for us is about 11 lbs.

Actually, oddly the first lamb was the little lamb, which was stick abs dead. Second lamb was coming backwards abs took some getting out and then was also dead!

Think you’ll find that genetics has everything too do with it… natural hereditary genetics… just because it’s not done by men in white coats with clipboards, it’s still genetics…

Interesting comment. I once consulted a geneticist about inbreeding. (Well, I found the number of a place breeding laboratory mice and called them up!). Geneticist told me they didn't consider it inbreeding until they'd bred brother to sister for 30 generations -- and then the mouse would be inbred for the characteristic they were selecting for, but not necessarily for anything else! He said, "Everything is genetics". Then added as an after thought, "But an endo-chronologist would say it's all down to hormones"!
