@Northeastfarmer made an interesting point in another thread, he'll bin it if everyone else will, well, we're up for that too.
It's a scam, it is just a piece of paper saying you're following the law - something the law requires you to do anyway. :banghead:

So, there's us and @Northeastfarmer who are up for it, who else will step up?

(perhaps an interesting thread to watch @Guy Smith, it may end up with nothing happening, or a lot... )

By not being farm assured how much does that affect your sales prices ?
We calculate it to be between very little and nothing... this is because we've decided to change to only selling stores, breeding stock and direct-to-consumer meat. That just leaves culls, and an extra bit of grass should* make up for anything there.

*Yes, I know that assumption is the mother of all f^ck-ups...

I stopped it a few years ago , when i just found it depressing,.. worst was the fact that the inspector new less about the practical job than i , :scratchhead: he new little of sheep farming even thpugh he pretended he did....,

Neither they or the nfu dont get my hard earned money nor will they in the near future at least....

Well that's not great... you'd think an inspector would be clued up about the area he/she'd be inspecting ?

Never have been FA but have had trading standards inspections, don't see any difference for cull cows at market and about 5p/kg less direct, makes no difference for stores so its not worth it for us
Need lots of people who it only makes a bit of difference to to leave perhaps they would buck their ideas up
Would join like a shot if shoppers were clamouring to buy red tractor products but they are not. Labeling needs to be improved so its clear what is British this may happen after Brexit but I won't hold my breath as its in the supermarkets interest not to

Gave up two years ago and are no better off. We sell as stores and cull cows usually need finish so it means very little to us.
Had this turn up the other week though:
836951

Haven’t opened it yet and not too sure whether to bother.
