Hi Warksfarmer, we can carry out flushing. It's important water quality is checked regularly and treated effectively. Corrosion is a massive concern in all heating systems especially biomass due to high water volumes. The RHI heat meter can be affected to and reduce your quarterly payments. Hi. We use ESC Global for all our water treatments on our Linkas. Water quality is vital to the longevity of the system and part or your RHI obligations.

Open tank drain.
Fill up with new.?
No, generally you leave the same water unless there's something out of the ordinary. Are these open systems, or are they leaky so they have new water added regularly? what am I missing here? Flushing is not needed unless something is very wrong, and draining and refilling is never a scheduled maintenance. The water does not go bad, it's the contaminants that cause problems. No new water means no new contaminants. Are these glycol systems that have to be maintained?

Not certain what the op is wanting to achieve?

better still is to fit a magnetic filter, you will find most of the discolouration is magnetic sludge, fitting a mag filter traps this sludge and extends the life of the pump, pumps have the rotor/armature made of permanent magnets encased in a stainless steel tube, the tubular housing surrounding the rotor is fed with boiler water via a drilling down the rotor shaft (usually ceramic) any magnetic particles passing the drilling get attracted in and then stick to the rotor eventually making it seize up. wilo pumps are very prone to the stainless rotor tube wearing through allowing water to corrode the magnets which makes it swell up and jam in the housing, taking it apart and cleaning it is a waste of time unless you catch it soon enough, if your wilo pump rattles slightly it is already too late. either way get the inhibitor in anyway, you can test the inhibitor with a ph meter, if you are on borehole water for the boiler get it tested for quality asap.
