dont panic... Foil tape has been used all over the foil backed pipe. But they also covered this external pipework joint with duct tape to protect from the sun for a few days before I could protect with boxing.
Long time since bought off them but look on net .
Think rep.customer support lady was called dot-I received good prices, and next day delivery and service and installed myself and still good years down the line.
There is also cvp which is pretty good. At the end of the day it comes down to price with a lot of projects.
People always want a cheaper price so most the time it means using a cheaper less efficient product to win the job by cutting a few 1000 here and there.
I worked for a company two years ago and they cut up 30ft
Lengths to fit them in the skip... Sorry guys you probably didn't want to know that...
Don't burry it in the water table,, it would be better
Off on the surface!! Ha. But yes the deeper the better if its dry it's good. If you have uno.. (Two single pipes) put
The flow lower. If it's duo.. It's a bast@rd to connect a t.. But I like rehau for the jointing system..
To be honest I see rehau everware so it must be either good or good value. I remember it being said that you can get better pipe but it's payback is a lot longer so rehau I guess is middle of the road,, the ford of insulated pipe... I wouldn't be too worried about the sand as we used to track the diggers over it and beat it into submission around corners..
I agree ref sand if it's going in to a good subsoil.
Uponor given v generous discounts to us which seem to be akin to rehau's better quality pipe.
My plumbers have 70 years experience between them and have seen the insulation seen in REHAU pipes and similar become brittle and turn powdery over time. That said if you get a leak in Uponor water gets in the oinion skins.
Pay ya money, take your choices. Same old story. I just hope I don't have to see the stuff again now it's buried!
Finally dug a test hole on ours today and through the steam coming out of the hole, we determined that the insulation was breached and was now full of water.
New pipe going in on Monday, Ravithermex this time.
Could here the guy crying in the background when his contractor gave him the news
Need to lay 35m of pipe which is going to cost roughly £1100
What used 50mm Celotex(insulation board) cut a groove out for the 32mm pipe and put another 50mm board on top and put this in the trench isn’t this the same thing?
