Some mot far from here. Theyre bloody dangerous need very strong electric fences and gamekeeper has a very big gun in case one escapes. Other than that seem very easy to keep TB testing them is a pain think they have a special handling pens for them

Good fencing, a lot of patience, an ability to sprint to safety and be prepared for a very steep learning curve.

But as a starting point, what is your market?

Nutiritionally, they are very different to cattle, are used to much poorer quality forage and they do not necessarily respond to feeding the same way. For example, unless you get them fat enough before winter, you cannot get flesh back on them if they lose too much condition; no matter how much grub you throw at them. This is because their metabolism slows right down in winter as it is programmed to let them stand for hours in a Canadian blizzard not doing anything.

I know these folks locally http://www.bisons.org/

mate used to have them in canada
a tad wild at times can jump very high so even deer fenceing can have probs keeping them in
there was some in NZ place killed one for meat but hard to sell so turned the whole lot in to mince for burgers good bergers but a waste
think unlike canada etc where there is big numbers hard to sell due to poor supply chain ie not the numbers each week to have a good supply
beefalo is too close to beef taste so not worth it
know a place milking water bufflow makeing cheese and it's ment to be very good
