Bit of fun, how do you value these .

Lovely cattle, we don't see as high a prices for the real top end but I would say 1130 for the boys and if the heifer is wider than the pic, I would say the best beast, I would put at 1075. Good luck, be interesting to see the prices. Ive got a few stragglers to sell a fortnight Friday, similar weights age and quality I think, will try to get pics up on this thread, be interesting to see what similar cattle make across different marts in different parts of the country

Thanks ! Will let you know how they do. half and half natives to continentals, interesting to see how they compare as 2 years ago natives sold best and last year it was the continentals :cautious:

When you say natives sold best, do you mean made more, or more in comparism for the type of beast? So how are the natives bred? Presumed named sire type job? Around here my best, hopefully like yours would be 100 ahead of named angus sire, worst would be 100 behind, and middle of run but 50 kilo heavier than native the same price. Very roughly speaking

Highest average price and average ppk. Seem to be a lot of men buying the younger natives as easy doers to run over the summer and sell as big stores come autumn.

Our Natives are by named sire Hereford bull out of Aa and Aaxlim cows, so thick meaty cattle. Continentals are Lim and Piedmontese bull on Aa , Aaxlim and Hereford x AA cows.

All swings and roundabouts and each year is different, this year the AA sired stuff making more than the Hereford sired, completely opposite to couple years ago. Shall find out tomorrow

1st steer did £1180
2nd steer did £1110

Heifer did £910

Weighed 10-15kg lighter as empty.

Happy with those prices. All cattle sold well, Continentals did better than natives this year . Top pen of 5 native steers were 500kg £1085

Best ppk was the smallest Hereford X steer.....290kg, £750. 2.58ppk.

Will work out average ppk for the whole lot later!
