Existing shed, non galvanized posts, surface rust.

Converting building for cattle. Is bitumen best product? What do I need to know? Sandblast, then paint?

Any better alternative products which would be better?

Read only a few days ago that there is a paint that reacts with rust and stops it rusting permanently. bitumen’s ok but once it’s got damage and water can creep in then it will rust underneath with out being able to dry out.

Shutter round them and concrete them

better products for metal than bitumen......rust oleum or peganox type 'platsicky' paints:)

The paint system consists of a blast primer, an epoxy glass flake build coat, and an acrylic urethane finish, as well as a stripe coat of epoxy glass flake.

The glass flake epoxy system was selected because of its adhesive and anti-corrosive properties.

Thanks knowledge bank. Just got back to this thread.

Need gate hinges etc, and want to treat to above that level, so concrete isn't really ideal (but thanks for the idea).

Think the oil rig paint system sounds a little beyond my skillset 😳

Rustoleum peganox sounds like maybe the winner. And I might also shutter and concrete up as far as the bottom gate hinges while I'm on.

Skip and container paint would probably do quite well.
