Bl**dy Lice in Sheep

Our ewes picked up lice from somewhere before Christmas. We treated them with Crovect and it settled down, then when they were housed mid Jan they started itching a bit again so we treated them again to try and ensure we cleared it up.......well they have started itching again!
Is it worth us trying to treat them again with Dysect, or is it a waste of time? Will it clear up when the weather gets better? The lambs are just starting to itch a little bit as well.
It’s the last thing the poor things need battling with this flipping weather.
Plan to treat them with Dysect after shearing to get rid of it all together

Yeah had it confirmed as Lice by vet. Also they have really cleared up after treatment and then 4 weeks on gets worse again so obviously killing a lot them but not all.
Will they get better as the weather improves?

Have you had them tested to make sure iys lice? We hve dipped strong lambs as you as 6 weeks before,in a ideal world 12 weeks is better.

no worse , when it gets warm , either dip or use dysect , crovect waste of time , neighbour had issues last summer ,he used crovect and everything got reinfected , you could see line where treatment didnt get to , birds kept carrying backwards and forwards from the next neighbour nearly whole summer . be a mess in a few months get sorted asap

Pour ons are unlikely to get a good kill in a full fleece, at best keeping it under control.
Treatment off shears or dipping to get a good kill according to my vet (who may even be yours too?)

Hoping a lot of them will be going at 12 weeks as we push them on fair. Sounds like the best approach is Dysect them all next week when it looks like it will be drier and then Dip them all or Dysect them after shearing. Thanks

Whats the withdrawal on dysect?.
Will it push you over your time frame of 12 weeks for lambs going ?

Lots of picky looking lambs this year but I think the weather's to blame. Lice need a good long cold spell to force them to go down to skin level for heat. Then to get adequately exposed to pour-ons. The odd cold night isn't enough to get them all down on the skin. Its been a battle all winter.
