I'm thinking of planting a black oat cover crop. A brief look on the internet suggests the seed costs around £2/kg which seems outrageously expensive. Is that what I should expect to pay?

I sell the seed.Thanks. Do you just buy through your usual seed merchant?
That would make a nice road trip/weekend break, but not finished harvest yet!I have black oats in a heap but am in the Limousin
What would the advantage of black oats be over just buying a ton of normal oats of a merchant and sowing them.
Edit. apart from the obvious of a higher mark up for the bloke selling them.
