Why arn't farm trailers on air suspension now, I would have thought they would be cheaper than leaf springs and kinder to the soil?

IMG_0649.JPG I had this made with air suspension, air and abs brakes, great trailer as you can lower or lift when loading.

Stewart do as standard on their roadkings - would never go back to springs now!

A lot of tractors still have no air.

You don’t need ABS on tractor to have it functional on a trailer. They use on board ABS units that work from the 7 pin standard plug.

Ah right sounds like a good idea, so works off the brake light?

Just assumed that Fendts come/can come with abs and thought tractor controller was needed.

Fendts, fastracs, CLAAS as an option and some other manufactures can have tractor ABS modules. Stewart trailers mount a box under the trailer so that you can use the tractor ABS line or just through the brake light signal.
    Works very well!

Had Broughan's UK rep on the phone yesterday following up from Lamma. Apparently they still have build slots in time for 1st cut silage.

We have small abs box in cab. Shows if fault with trailer, tractor does not have abs.

True, but mine have, and would like them only air brakes but they seem to come with both, and if the cost could come down again with air suspension all the better.
