how do you know it wouldn't be £200 with another insurance company? My insurance with the NFU went down a fiver or so when I put business use on it. 400 or so quid. You need to look at what cover your getting with the NFU and compare it with what their competitors offer. There might be somethings in the policy that you don't want or need with the NFU that the competitors aren't including.
Also, I know where their office is, they speak English, and if you make a claim there's no pissing about.
And all the wasters, white van fraternity etc etc no insurance crowds too???We’re all being played like a deck of cards with motoring costs.
Booked a Renault Traffic van in to the dealers yesterday, asked the cost and for the year 4 service at 35,000 miles it’s £685. Engine oil, oil filter, cabin filter, brake fluid, and everything else it’s inspection and parts and fitting extra.
The (male) receptionist said it’s “main dealer“ prices, so I pointed out they were charging the same as Porsche main dealer prices for a basic van, while Paragon Porsche charge £690 for a ‘major’ service on a 911 Turbo.
Cancelled the appointment, told him I won’t be back, booked it in to a local independent.

I change all the time , it's a pita but there's no loyalty from insurance firmsBoth myself and Mrs "Y" have gone back to NFU Mutual this year for car insurance.
They're never going to be the cheapest but they were within an acceptable amount of the cheapest to make them worth changing to.
I guess renewal time next year will tell the tale but if they're ridiculously dearer I'll just leave them again.
House insurance with them was still out of all reason though.
No, none whatsoever.I change all the time , it's a pita but there's no loyalty from insurance firms
