Blood Pressure

My wife has high blood pressure and regularly takes medication and pressure readings. They suddenly started being all over the place. Following a trip to the GP's her readings were fine. A new pressure monitor is on order.

You just book an appointment with your local surgery and the nurse will do it no need for hospital at all
Not sure where you are but I think Tesco are offering the service at the stores with a chemist in
Its easier to have your own moniter, But first you have to realise you have higher BP, then you go out and buy one
In my case the wife had one, but i didnt know or think to test my self because i had a heavy feeling in the head and strained eyes

Beetroot juice. Ewwww. Faced with that, I think I'd try the whatever random suggestion google has come up with this week. Magnesium, vitamin D, distilled sharks eye fluid, apple cider vinegar mixed with the finest Oban whisky.

juice it if you don’t like it - in a breakfast smoothie with say apple / mint / lemon i bet you wouldn’t even taste it

i don’t like avocado much but in a juice with other stuff ( spinach, broccoli, spinach, apple, lemon) i get my daily fix of good stuff 🙂 and it tastes great

Just to stir it up:ROFLMAO: I drink some of the viniger and add raw organic cyder viniger
A swig of olive oil is strong on the throat so i follow that with the beetroot viniger mix to wash it down, followed by red onion and some cherry tomatoes. My fix before tea, oh forgot BP pills with a swig of orange juice (extra C)

Yes your own would be the most convenient as long as it’s accurate and being used properly

Nah, I'm alright thanks. I'll pass. I'm not big on juice or such things first thing in the morning.

Very rare for GP practice to even have an ECG machine now, I have no idea why. You would think it would be quick and cheap to do, even if you had to email it onwards for cardiology to look at.

I guess it might be because GPs aren't paid to do this any longer.

Are the home ECG monitors any use? They tend to record, but then charge for analysis beyond the basics. But they can export a PDF that could be passed to a GP if that would help in capturing what was happening when it did so, rather than at a hospital appointment when everything might be business as usual. Clearly the analysis is the important bit and beyond the end user, but recognising a change in what is normal is practical, as would taking multiple readings. GPs seem to encourage home BP testing, so is this useful or just technology for the sake of it?

I can't say I have seen these sorts of things used, but they can give people a machine to carry around with them that records their pulse and the like. There is a lot of interpretation to ECGs as you can imagine.
