Blood sucking ahdb

I bet the AHDB staff didn't feel guilty that their wages were paid for decades by people who didn't want to pay but had to on threat of prosecution and ultimately jail.........some of whom may have gone bust as a result of those forced levy payments.

I don’t want to pay any bills, but I pay those I’m obliged to. I don’t believe any credible business was made bust by the levy though - and plenty have thrived as a result of the benefits got from it.

But that’s old ground and I’m not going over it again. Just sad to read the faux sincerity from a man who put so many out of work by his dirty tricks and lies.

If paying levy is the difference between bust or not, they were in the soup anyway.

But you arent considered a grower till u have three self propelled harvesters and a hundred plus flashing beacons
It's ok, I'm happy being a peasant farmer that grows a few spuds! W⚓ boxes, 300hp tractors and1500kg front weights with flashing led's and self propelled harvesters not required!

This really is descending yet again into a loathsome thread. Whatever your views on the corporation, do you think you could all retain some dignity and not attack the staff. There will be many folks there who have gone to work everyday trying to do a good job. They already have an uncertain future so the least you can do is not kick them in the gut with speculative comments about what I’m sure you don’t really know anything about.

Do you feel guilty that you effectively hounded them out of their jobs with a campaign based on lies? Or are you okay to have ruined a few careers because it’s only collateral damage and it’s saved your (debt ridden) company some money?
Come on highland mule do you seriously think I have convinced 1,500 people to vote no don’t be so silly.

You were putting a guilt trip on @White rabbit as being morally responsible for AHDB staff losing their jobs, which if true the flip side of it is that they were equally morally responsible for taking his money for decades against his will. Given the amount he will have paid in levies over the years I'd say AHDB staff have done very nicely out of him, and people like him, and they have no right to complain the gravy train has ended.

Your attitude is like a habitual thief moaning that his victims have wised up to his techniques and he can't pick their pockets any more, and don't you know he's got kids to feed????

Why has he put them out of work? Why can't they get people to voluntarily pay for their wonderful service (allegedly)? There's nothing stopping the AHDB starting up a subscription only service. If no-one wants to pay them voluntarily why do they deserve a job at all?

Goweresque maybe highland mule would like horticultural and potato growers to sign up to become a registered charity, why does he not see that if they had been a valued source of information we all would have voted yes it’s not rocket science.

Peter Kendall and Jane king are the ones who should really be getting the stick. Not white rabbit and not the staff who have lost jobs.
Ajd 132 I wouldn’t have thought either are giving it a second thought ,they have made their money , where or how the money was generated is of no concern to them any more.

I agree whole heartedly with that 👍 this is the legacy Sir Peter Kendall has left. As for Jane King I never did think she was up to the job.

What’s more worrying is that Kendall still has the ear of Government and has now been dispatched to Northern Ireland to solve the ag problems out there 🤦

That’s probably why we seem to be getting a lot of orders from NI I couldn’t understand what the reason was, all I can say I hope they keep him you never know we might get a little of our £300,000 back while he is trying to help those growers out of business.
