Blood sucking ahdb

Well Phil p like you we are still waiting for them to release this information we were promised weeks ago, maybe it is even more sensitive than we thought.we send them constant emails asking for this and several other requests for information we have asked for.We have also put it to them that they are holding 28 million pounds in their account when legally they can only hold 25 percent of their annual levy, well 25 percent of 68 is 17 so either they are short of projects (in our meeting with Hayley Campbell-gibbons she admitted as such) or we are being overcharged on our levy. When you really stop and think about it what new ideas came they come up with,a few ago weeks ago they said they were looking at saving water in potatoes by using trickle irrigation my neighbours have been doing it for 25 years , hands up anybody out there who have saved thousands or made thousands on the back of ahdb advice.

What information are you awaiting now, and do you have the necessary legal arrangements in place to hold it?

We have sound data privacy laws in this country for a reason. Personally, if I were a grower, I would not be happy with AHDB releasing any of my details to a group of fellow growers directly, and would be taking legal action if they did.

I can see it must be difficult for you with the former NFU Policy Chief on Hort now the Chairman of the AHDB Hort Board.
This is what really irritates me about NFU, AHDB and red tractor. It’s the same people and same farmer board members going between them. Too much nepotism and ‘yes’ men who all agree with each other.
Saying that I do think ahdb cereal and oilseed has got better the last few years but they need to push on abit more as some of the stuff is abit basic and samey.

Difference with this one Adam is that Hayley was a full time employee at NFU, not a member holding an office. She effectively applied for a different job.
As to why it’s the same people the gene pool is pretty small from those who have ability, time and inclination to fulfill these roles. Also as you gain experience in one role you have a natural advantage in ability and experience to undertake other positions. It’s a bit like why some contract farmers keep taking on new agreements, it’s always the same ones ?

That is a fair point. Quite a good income being on a load of boards like that! It’s a good diversification...
I don’t know why I care to be honest, leave them too it.

So we pay 10 times more than the beef men do,i didn't realise that, and they couldn't send a ballot paper to them because the ahdb don't know who they are, according to the podcast the milk industry is not happy either maybe we will have to have a third poll.We are going to have to run a second ballot anyway because they have now have been told they will to inform all private levy payers as well,Hayley is now saying they going to have a look at the system to try and make it more fair ,who said campaigning doesn't work.

Which piece do you find funny highland mule is it we pay 10 times more than any other sector ,if so forgive me for not laughing.

Post 453 suggests that the two are very comparable in terms of payments - what's the basis for you claiming otherwise?

And no, that's not what I found funny - the two things that tickled me were:
1. that your shambolic questionaire was found lacking, and you'd probably have to run it again, presumably at cost to yourselves. Handy hint: maybe check that the result will have the potential to lead to meaningful change before you waste any more of your money on it.
2. that you believe it's your campaigning that is leading to AHDB review, even although the review was formally announced some months ago, as a direct output from the Defra review.

There you go again highland mule leading with you chin, firstly we are not running it again the first one looks like it being a huge success, the second one if happens is because the ahdb are being very obstructive and have not released all the names until after the ballot went out.You have obviously not been following events the review has come and gone and the next one is not for another 5 years by which time I will have lost another £150,000 .

Hey, you asked me a question and I answered it honestly. If only you could return the favour.

Hi white rabbit
I don't seem to have a voting form I am in the potato sector and have supported your campaign from the start. I don't want to miss this opportunity could you check if it has been sent
Stoke fruit farm ltd
payer no. P1404148
they know what I think of them !

There you go again highland mule leading with your chin, the first ballot looks like being a huge success, the reason to launch a second one is because the obstructive nature of ahdb ,has I explained before they said there were no more names then after the ballot went out they found another 200 this now has the potential to be 800 names .Regarding another ahdb review that has come and gone and the next one is 5 years away where you are getting the idea that they would hold another one 18 months after the last one I don't know.

Simon w you must have missed my other post i put on for you ,I will get one in the post for tomorrow if you have anybody else who wants one sending please let us know ,looks like we have forced them to consider a rate cut for the potato sector but we want them closed down.

Would somebody like to explain why I belong to the nfu I seem to have had a memory loss ,the response we are getting from the nfu over our fight with their friends at ahdb is nothing short of scandalous.I can now see why their members have dropped from 55,000 to 49,000 in a short space of time.I don't know what the problem was between nfu and private eye but if anybody knows I should like to be enlightened.
