Blood sucking ahdb

correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t PGRO levy voluntary? It is not part of regulation and statutory instrument that rules AHDB levies.
It's taken automatically by all merchants I know of, or have ever dealt with. Does it get to the PGRO? Who knows. Probably can make a phone call and demand it is removed, but has anyone done that?

Constitutes £300 - 600 per annum, depending on cropping mix. Not really getting much benefit at all on beans now. Recommended list is the only thing I look at - once in a blue moon. Last agronomy guide published 2017 I think.

So, you're blaming the QMS for the rules and regs from govts which killed the small local abattoirs in Scotland and made it impossible for them to update/refurbish or modernise to keep up? Good one :ROFLMAO:

The European regulations requiring abattoir structural improvements came into force in 1993, what relevance they have to QMS in 2020 is beyond me, sorry?

Maybe visit the abattoir where your stock goes or a few supermarkets and see first hand what influence QMS has on the value of your product, which will be next to nothing.

You're the one going on about Larry being the saviour and all our abattoirs being owned by Irish... So you tell me what it's got to do with QMS?

Scotch Beef has a premium, and Scotch lamb is top of the UK tree for export.
Local supermarkets - if its UK red meat, its all Scottish with the Scotch assured label.

Why did that Polish mince not fly
off the shelves then?

I give up, please visit smaller butchers and catering butchers chillers and actually see where their stock comes from, everything from poultry to beef.

There are boning plants within the UK at present boning imported lamb. It will sell in huge quantities without advertising.

You're product is top end that's why you have buyers from Southern England and Europe, it's got feck all to do with QMS.

Blue heifers and Beltex lambs don't command premium prices as a result of QMS, it is as a result of the farmers hard work. All the levy boards do is shaft the farmer after he has done all the hard work and the animal is ready to sell.

Give 15 tough skinned, smelly Swale tups to QMS to sell and see how far they get.

I don't sell Blues or Beltex. But my lambs are in demand in Europe because they are Scottish. The French want "Ecosse". So yes brand is everything.

The high end restaurants in London pay big for Blackie meat - local business is built upon that very trade! They sell the image of slow grown meat on Heather Hills and the consumer loves it

I thought you did give up cutting a few weeks ago :scratchhead:
No one is saying imports arnt being used when the public
dont question where their food comes from but your suggesting the
public only buy on price which isn't altogether true .

Think you've been living under a rock.
Every product under the sun is advertised.

"Peugeot, the drive of your life"
"The car in front, is a Toyota"
"Ello Tosh, gotta Toshiba?"
"You know when you've been Tango'd"
"Opal Fruits made to make your mouth water"
"A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play"
"I'm Lovin' It"
"Land Rover - the best 4x4xfar"
"reggae reggae sauce"
"Pepperami, its a bit of an animal"
"Strings and Things"
"Baby Bell"
"Make Young's the fish of the day"
"Have you had your Weetabix?"

And those are just off the top of my head. Advertising is huge and very influential.
Apple and Fendt are perceived to be the best through exceptional marketing. They are no better than their competitors, but they did the leg work and now reap their rewards.
