They will have something else to think about while they are sat at home twiddling their fingers ,the potato sector will be voicing their concerns after next week.
Its very good news that the potato sector will have a go at triggering a ballot. I am shore there will be plenty of support our money was never intended to be used for AHDB propaganda adverts telling us they are changing their ways.

Well highland mule has usual you are right again ,they have started wheeling out the big guns ,they are really pushing to make sure levy payers who have fell behind with their payments even the ones who have made a part payment will be denied a vote. They have now managed to secure the services of Defra lawyers it looks like they are going to steam roll their way through this, of course they can still play the ace card of levy payers who do not care either way and don’t vote will count as a yes vote.I see they are bringing in more ex Nfu staff to be given a job then told to go home ,I don’t know how we will make decisions on the farm with the 600 ahdb staff sat at home ,I am at wits end not being able to access their help.

Given that AHDB supplies intellectual property to its customers/ levy payers, what else would you think they spent the levy on? Some on physical tests and trials, yes, and some on physical equipment and office space, but most is surely going on employing the brains that generate that information. Now, some may feel that they already know everything there is to know about growing vegetable, but...

Obviously there must be a lot growers who disagree or we would not be getting so many disgruntled comments coming in, there is only a few growers doing large scale veg now so if you are not on top of your game you are soon out of business, these people would go into meltdown if they ran their own business, could you imagine like this morning when I walked into the farmyard and 120 workers want their orders what somebody from ahdb would do.The struggle we have had while they have been sat at home I don’t know how we have managed.Teaching grandma to suck eggs comes to mind.

And yet you struggle to be profitable with a £10M turnover. Just think how much better off you’d be if you actually took some advice occasionally.

This is one of the main problem they give away intellectual property to all including foreign competitors which we have paid for not that its much use to them. Surely any research work done by the AHBD should be the levy payers property.

It must be easy to give away something when you haven't had to pay for it and someone else has been forced to pay the levy

How would emergency use applications assist growers in other countries? Are they applied internationally?

I don't know is that all they do

No, it's not all they do, but it is a significant part of the remit according to others upstream in this thread. Personally, I see no issue with foreign farmers having access to our market price reports, fluke and worm forecasts, etc. - other things that they do which don't really have any value outside of the levy payers.
