Blood sucking ahdb

I'll try and some this thread up.

Those involved with cereals seem happy with AHDB, mainly due to the R&D they do.
Those involved in horticulture are generally a smaller number of bigger businesses who see no point in AHDB and with @White rabbit 's help, could vote to stop the levy.
For red meat, Scotland seem to be well served with their PGI status allowing effective marketing while in England they seem to offer little/ no value, but with many so small businesses, it will be difficult to get a vote on the levy.
The dairy industry seems quite satisfied with things.

shame, best take no notice of folk like mule, he is fast enough to sling incorrect sh!t and insults when he thinks he will without finding the facts first, best not let folk like that drive you away, if you have something to say then say it, your voice is as good as anyone else's and don't let any feck wit tell you different

Yeah, fair enough, maybe I’ve been a bit harsh, but you must agree he’s brought it on himself too with his attitude (as do I, at times).

“Growers are harder working than farmers”, and then accusing us all of being being AHDB staff, crooked expenses cheats etc. And then the constantly moving deadlines for revelation of devastation within the board - it’s worse than Gunnarfleet, ffs.

That would be a shame, what you are doing is right as we aIl need to be accountable when other peoples money is involved.

Absolutely - although sticking to facts and avoiding hyperbole And insults would be appreciated.

Maybe an gof is right I seem to be rubbing the majority of you chaps up the wrong way ,it just seems the people who try to improve their lot get penalised by having extra taxes(ahdb). It's very frustrating to see arable farmers around here not really ever doing very much not employing hardly anyone yet receiving a hefty payment once a year ,also their farms just becoming more and more run down, some of the land I rent has been on a p and k holiday for years, anyway I will not be posting again don't all cheer at once

Please at least post with the result once you have it. Trying to change the establishment is extraordinarily difficult and people that stand up to be counted on a just cause are to be applauded. You have some valid points but i hope that you can see from some comments on here that not all of the AHDB is broken. I really do think i get value for money in cereals (because i engage) but even with engagement really question the value i receive from the beef sector. The scale of your business amplifies the issue (and your levy payments) and yet in proportional terms it is not that different to what a beef producer pays.
I recently had the opportunity to hear the new Chairman, Nicholas Saphir, speak and i was quietly impressed. Those i have spoken to in the dairy sector who know him from his work at Omsco are fulsome in their praise ...... perhaps he can turn around the legacy Peter Kendall has left ....... might need a new CEO as well though ...

Thats probably a bit unfair. If @White rabbit is pursuing possible action against the organisation through a recognised process it would be inappropriate for any staff to reply that might in some way prejudice the action.

From what I’d read, he was running a petition outside of the recognised process - or have I picked that up wrong?

And yes, they might find it difficult to reply to all the wildest of accusations, but they could have had some input.

What does Jane king actually do?

Ok an gof will come back when we get result ,the poll is being handled by a very respected organisation ,the ballot finishes on the 21st so obviously it will be through a few days later, just a final sickening thing before I go which looks like spoiling the rest of my year a local grower has just revealed that he has not paid any levy for 10 years ,his levy will be around the same has ourselves of £30,000 a year so saving £300,000,when I said how the hell did he pull that off he said around 11years he was quite poorly and spent a lot of time on his computer and he happened to come across a account of the ahdb which held £3 million with this information he went to someone at the top of ahdb and they somehow forgot to send anymore invoices, now he said this person has retired he has started getting invoices again so he has signed our petition,ajd132 wants to know what jane king does pretty difficult question because she doesn't know either whatever it is it can't be that important it only takes one day a week, excuse me I shall have to go started feeling sick again

Someone at AHDB must know what Jane King does, after all, they employ her.
It’s also highly likely that someone at AHDB is reading this considering this is an AHDB section of TFF that they post on regularly so as a levy payer and on behalf of other levy payers I’ll ask.

AHDB, what does Jane King do to earn her salary?

I did an ahdb cereals and oilseeds webinar the other day which was really good. There’s great people within that organisation.
