Bloody Nazi Ebay

Just had my account suspended for a week for trying to send my phone number in a message! I do wish there was a decent alternative to ebay, I really hate it with all it's petty rules, but it does have good coverage.
Rant over, feel a bit better now!!

That's a bit over the top. They are actually trying to save you from yourself. Anything the phone can do, can be done through their system with greater security for both buyer and seller.

I was trying to contact the seller about something in one of his pictures not advertised on ebay. Just spent the best part (worst part) of an hour phoning them and after being transfered through several countries they won't budge on the ban. Of course I was told it was for my own protection, nothing to do with ebay being frightened of losing commission. How the hell can you arange for people to come and view a machine if you can't send them your contact details?
If I use ebay again I will only use classifieds.

I tried to ask a question and wanted to see the machine I was interested in, so sent my number on a message as the seller wasn't responding to the questions via ebay and hadn't out up his phone no. I also got a snotty message. I subsequently gave up and went to a s/h dealer for similar item. I understand they want commission but also I want to look at the item in the flesh as photos are never good enough no matter how many are taken. I have used Gum tree for free instead since to sell stuff.

To be quite honest I usually managed to sell most of my listings outside ebay, so I suppose they have caught up with me!
Ebay classifieds only costs a tenner for a month and goes in the same search system, a lot cheaper than the ebay final fee if selling expensive machinary, and you can list your phone number!

.i think you have to ad your phone number during the listing process it then appears on your ad under sellers details i think
