I bought one this year to cover ewe lambs,
I was lent one last year and was impressed by the "get up and go" of the lambs,
have to wait and see if it was a good idea!

I'm not surprised you were impressed, if your previous experience was with the other breed in the photo. :censored:

Should lambs with 'get up and go' not be the norm, regardless of breed? Discuss..... well apart from @Agrivator , who will have some daft reason for defending the dopeyness.

The Bleu looks to have a bit of width to him, compared to the breed as was imported back along.(y)

In one of the pens of store lambs I bought last week there was a 'random' lamb that looked like it was by a BdM.

It was the only one that was big enough and fit enough to kill.

Just sayin'. No idea if they'd all had the same treatment or if it was just an oddment that ended up in there to get rid of it 🤷‍♂️

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: TBH i don't have a problem with a Suffolk so long as it's not onto a Suffolk type ewe , on the right type aren't bad, I use the Suffolk for a purpose, only goes onto Aberfield X or Texel X cross ewes to give a real nice milky ewe lamb which is very Saleable with Lamb at foot.

He has great width and Gigot on him, with fine bone, I usually use a Charollais on ewe lamb, so lets see how he gets on

Dopey lambs are of great benefit to a decrepit shepherd at lambing time.

And after seeing Jeremy Clarkson drawing his fat Suffolk x Mule lambs, why would anyone else on inbye ground want to keep anything else. They would have been a credit to any shepherd. In fact it's the only time I've seen anyone south of Yorkshire produce anything worthwhile.

As much as I like Suffolk’s I don’t think I can agree with that statement, the novelty of dragging a lamb that won’t suck around a single pen while a mule yearling stands on my head wore off when I was 18, to think about doing that when I’m decrepit doesn’t bare thinking about.

He will struggle to get through the hedge with all that wool and if he does you know where he is with his bell jingling. 😂

Got a Texel ram lamb here, late born twin from an embryo donor. She’s 5 years old and never been shorn. Averages over 2 lambs a year (without counting the embryos). You can see her and the twin gimmers she reared last year. Don’t tell anybody else I’m offering him to you mind.
