He’s nothing overly exciting to look at but has decent breeding from what I remember and throws nice calves I just wish he was a little longer as calves are a little short for my liking.
I always enjoy getting him out to grass and the hills as he puts so much condition back on as I only winter on silage and lick buckets and he wastes away a little

Well, NewPole Lomu did his bit for charity at Bath & West, raising £200 for Cancer Reseach UK by having his photo taken with all and sundry ! We asked for voluntary donations, just a few pence and people were very generous. He must have had his photo taken several hundred times, got up and down to pose with children, families, all four divisions of the Armed Forces (I enjoyed those more than Lomu did ) and the Paramedics ! Lomu was very tolerant, a great advert for the breed’s docility and we all did a pretty good job of educating the public about the beef industry. Good use of time !

Well done Ursula.
I have my own old girl as well, calved about a week ago. She's looking as good as Ursula at 17 and a half. I wonder if it's fair to put her in calf again? What do you think?

depends how she is ?
I don't think we will put Boss {Ursula] back in calf again, her udder is getting very low and before she calved she was starting to get a bit puffed out if she had to walk up the road but apart from that she calved him on her own no problem and was fine after and the calf was up in a quarter hour so she can't be to bad
I think she will be about the place for some time,
she may well be the last Peel cow left alive which won't mean much to some but the first blue bull we bought was her brother,
Boss is actually the most expensive cow we have bought
