thinking of putting a few British blues this year on our jersey crosses. Some of the herefords are coming out a bit small and don't really bulk up too much.Wondered what to avoid, and should I just put it on the more friesen ones?

It is difficult to know what to use without a recommendation from someone that has used it, perhaps @Philip Bealing will have some ideas or know someone that would

The problem is as soon as you find something good they are either not producing or dead. Happened to us with umpire and now Anderson.

Bulls like Heartthrob (admittedly only after 10 calves) are heading to the very easy calving which is great but you are left with something which is not going to look great through the market as a calf.

Bit ranty but to be honest I am just frustrated.

We're using blue bull/ Hereford as sweeper bulls, if you're gonna use blue Ai you need the bull to be pure white or you will get black calves.
Took this pic of your bulls Dam this morning still going well and in calf at 15

Found that with Solpoll, the Hereford we used last year. Don't look great as calves in the market out of our crossbreds

White B Blue bulls with full Calving surveys on Dutch milk cows available from Cattle Genie Limited. Easiest Calving bull Noud van de Plashoeve and 275 days gestation length. Or Dorus with lots of British calves on the ground.

A few of my current ones today. The big ones are some heifers that I kept from last year and the calves are mostly steers be reared by some lame/old/high SCC cows.

Steers mostly look good and are quite shapely, heifers are very hit and miss, I've got some cracking ones and some that look like a white jersey.

Last year I used some Sefion Cardi, Norbeck triple blue and Cogent triple blue.
