Something a little different for this site but I figure there are so many different people on here it may be of interest to someone?!
I bought this bike in November last year to use in a charity ride around the UK in support of sick, injured and wounded servicemen. I completed the tour earlier this month so now I'm sorry to say it has to go.
It has a full BMW service history and I had it serviced and MOT'd just before my trip at Pidcock's BMW Nottingham on 28th March 2017.
It also had a new back tyre, and because it was a little sluggish to start a new battery which turned out to be a waste as it was actually the alternator failing so that was replaced as well. The previous owner had not long had both shocks serviced and was meticulous with the maintenance hence what attracted me to it in the first place.
The bike has everything you could ever want: heated grips, cruse control, tyre pressure monitors, ABS, traction control, electronically adjustable suspension, fog lights, and a massive 400 mile tank range to really destroy the miles.
I spent a week riding all around the UK with a pillion and the bike has been absolutely faultless, all day comfortable and the tank range made life a lot easier when up in the North of Scotland!
The bike also comes with the full BMW expandable panniers and top box which is suited to the ignition key plus matching soft luggage inserts. The top box did have a Mitex antenna fitted and so now has a blanking plate (see pictures) in place but everything is still watertight and it certainly doesn't stand out or detract from the bike.
For the tour I added Autocom's flagship SPA wired intercom system with bluetooth dongle, push to talk button, and a Mitex radio (inc. the external antenna which I can refit if you want it on the bike) for long distance bike to bike communication (miles instead of the meters you get from the bluetooth headsets) for an extra £300 I'm happy to leave this on the bike otherwise I'll sell it separately.
Any questions please contact me but apart from the normal age related wear/ marks, plus the bits I had to sort before the trip, it has been faultless and a joy to ride. Whilst the weather is I've been out on the bike a couple of times so the mileage will have increase slightly.
Looking for £6,700 for the bike and £300 for the intercom / radio etc
