Bit of sunshine after the rain this afternoon. Been a good year for feeding fodderbeet in situ. Still have 25% rain insurance acreage unused but it is starting to grow leaf again rapidly.
So decided to keep the roots from going woody and terminate the bolting.
This is feldherr fodderbeet planted 12 months ago second year in same field.
The toolbar takes them out very cleanly and simply, they just ride over the angle iron.
When feeding to sheep I put this machine in front of flock and in dry conditions sheep will eat 100% clear up. The cattle are just strip fed and will pull and eat all the beet cleanly without knocking it over.
With free draining stony soil fodderbeet and the huge amount of feed it produces allows us to carry livestock on a limited acreage through the non grass months.
