How successful are boomless sprayers?
At present I have a 7 nozzle sprayer boom which is frustratingly narrow on anything other than patch spraying on the quad or utv.
I see 3 nozzle boomless upto 36ft!
Surely the spray pattern must be poor.

I tried one several years ago, using Thistlex in grassland. It seemed to work ok at the time, but control was poor and a lot of the thistles & nettles grew back strongly.

I put it down to the droplets being very coarse and coverage poor. I haven't bothered with it since.

I couldn't imagine how the droplets could be suitable when distributed a large distance

Use one in a solar farm. It will cover 9m in a pass.

Its fitted to a 225l tank in a polaris ranger. You’ll need your battery fully charged and a high capacity pump to get the pressure and coverage though. Something like this pump.

I was pleasantly surprised with the one here,
I sprayed the edge of a park and end rigs and it made a good job I broadcasts out to 6 mtrs.
But I would like to know if it can be set for a smaller broadcast ie 2 mtrs to do a footpath

It is but that needs to be running 100% so basically you need a new one every 12 months.
I see. Do they do an upgraded alternator for them so you can stick a bigger capacity battery on? I had the choice of 3 different output ones last time I bought one for a tractor
