Boots giving ankle support?

Haix supplied the MoD with about something like 150,000 pairs of high specification of boots in 2013, and army surplus stores are full of both new and used Gortex boots just now, as they changed the supplier. Some sizes of new boots are running low.
Strangely enough I've just come back from a long walk through the snow wearing a new pair of the MoD / Haix 'High Liability' boot (£65 on Ebay), and they are really comfy with a reasonable amount of ankle support. But, I don't think they'd last long in slurry as the nylon panels will stink forever when they get crap on them. Looking at Quavers link, the German military Haix dont have the mesh panel.

I got some fishermans boots from Go Outdoors, laceup highleg, waterproof and very warm, which is why I have them, they are quite stiff, so good support.

Do they make your feet hot and sweaty? Love my redbacks because they keep my feet cool, but no ankle support!

err, i always wear lace up zip side boots ( Oliver AT ) as i dont like elastic sided boots.
In fact, many mine / construction sites here wont recognize elastic sided boots as "safety wear" due to lack of support

i dont think youll see the temps we get here :ROFLMAO:

After wearing zip sided lace up boots ( ALL the time, even as hiking boots etc ) for a number of years, I’d never go back to elastic sided boots

just as quick n easy to put on & off, but with the security & adjustability of laces

I live in Alt-Berg Defender boots. Very comfy, very hard wearing... they spend most of their life caked in sheep sh*t. I feed them very occasionally (dubbin and a good polish) - you should do it once a week/fortnight but I maybe do it once every few months.

Pain in the arse if you need to nip into the house to grab something... but well worth that inconvenience when you're out working
