After much consideration, Harrison & Hetherington announce its annual livestock showcase, Borderway Agri Expo, will not take place this October.

After assessing Covid-19 restrictions, Harrison & Hetherington, organisers of Borderway Agri Expo, today announce that the 2020 event scheduled to take place on Saturday 31st October at Borderway, Carlisle, will not be going ahead.

Attracting hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors each year, Harrison & Hetherington believe that within the current guidelines concerning social distancing and mass gatherings, this event would not have been able to operate under present restrictions.

David Pritchard, joint managing Director of Harrison & Hetherington, gives further details: “These are challenging times and we have certainly thought long and hard about whether it would be possible for this showcase to go ahead this year. Borderway Agri Expo, has been growing from strength to strength over the years, and we have tried our hardest to come up with solutions which would adhere to government directives so as not to lose momentum. However, even if it were to be a scaled-down event, there would still be risks.

“Each year we receive tremendous support from the livestock industry, and our entire team would like to thank the exhibitors, competitors, sponsors and judges for their ongoing support. We look forward to working with them again and welcoming them back to Borderway next year.”

Next year’s event is planned to take place on Friday 29th October.

Borderway Agri Expo is not only seen as a true celebration of the very best British Livestock, but it is also an event for those within the livestock industry to share commercial, innovation and educational developments.
